Red scarf girl - After the book

After reading Red scarf girl I was very surprised at how the book ended; it was an amazing book I would recommend to people how are looking for an interesting, touching book to read. The book is wrote by Ji-li Jiang a girl who was born in 1954 but he story begins in 1966 when she’s 12 at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution. In this Revolution Chairman Mao changes most things about the Asian culture, you were looked down upon is you were a rightist or landlord. And in Ji-Li case she finds out that her fathers, father or her grandpa was a landlord and her whole class status was changed she was a scholar at her school, she never got in trouble, and she always did extra work to be the best she could be. But she wanted to become a Red guard; Red guards were like cultural police they made sure nothing was against everything Chairman Mao put into order but as we know her class status put her into a position where she could not become a Red guard and therefore her home was raided twice, her father taken from her and he was beat, and they were looked upon differently. But you’ll have to read the rest of the story yourself if you want to know what happens in the rest of the story it is very touching.

My perfect future after college

In my perfect future I am playing college football for a state team and being one of the best players on that team becomeing an MVP and being scooted by the NFL. Also after college I want to be drafted to the NFL as a first round pick. While playing I want to hear the electric sounds of the stadium and feel the rumbling of all the fans cheering while we and my team are playing our favorite game or football. I want to see the 60,000 fans jumping up and down as we run out on to the field warming up before our game and we I score the game winning touchdown for out team to win the Super Bowl, and after that season I could get the MVP rookie of the year.

Outsiders Book Movie Comparison

                                                                       The Outsiders
Some similarities in the book and the movie are the way they portrayed the characters like Johnnycake he was quiet doesn’t talk much and he is caring and his characteristics a small scrawny kid with black hair with a slight build , in some other ways they are similar is how it says how something occurred like Dallas death in the book it said he was shot and in the movie he died the same way he was shoot by the cop in the park. Also in one more way they are similar the portrayal of Johnny killing the soc in my head the way the set it in the book is the exact same way I saw it in my head with him bleeding and blood all over the concrete and Johnny laying against the fountain with Pony in the floor.

There is also differences in the in the movie from the book like when Johnny is in the hospital and his mom comes to talk to him, but in the movie Johnny refuses to let his mom see him because he is on bad terms with his parents. And in the movie they started way in the middle of the book they didn’t really start from the beginning which disappointed me because I thought it would start from the beginning. One last thing is that how Daley died I know that I said earlier I said there was a similarity and now there’s a difference because in the movie how is shot running from the cops and has one really dramatic death scene and in the book it said the cop shot him in the car and I looking forward to see how the movie would portray that.

Personally I think the actors could have done and much better job my expectations were a lot higher than what they showed In the movie. When I watched the movie I thought that I was watching a live play in some points in the movie but it was like a bad play not a good play. I wish that they would have put more effort into their character because some of the actors made the movie look style like in the scene where the church is on fire they didn’t look panicked at all which disappoints me because if I was in a fire with kids involved I would be freaking out and running everywhere. And in the fight scene some of the extras I wish that the would have looked more real in the fight instead of the fake looking fighting, that’s all I have to say about the actors and their “phenomenal” acting.

My First Quarter

This first quarter of 8th grade has been good, I have reconnected with all my friends and I haven’t been having any problems in my classes and I hope that it says that way. And for my grades I’m very disappointed in myself because I know that I can do better like in Math and ELA I feel like I can do better. I think in some ways I can improve is by giving my best effort in class because right now I know that I am not giving my best effort in my classes like Math and ELA if I’m being honest with myself, and right now I’m trying to join the Varsity Basketball team because tryouts were today and I’m hopeing that I will be able to make the team again and that’s all that I am doing in school now.

Why I Fail

This really connects to me because when I was younger I played baseball and I was bad, being honest with myself I was bad but I could’ve gotten better but I made excuses about oh um you I’ll practice and yeah I’ll go later and I would never go and practice until recently I would go play basketball with friends and I would practice regularly and I now realize with practice and not making excuses is the way to success.

What is My Identity?

My identity. I am a Male I am Irish, Dominican, Cuban, Mexican and Chinese I have a job in all those cultures some that I love and don't. I have my jobs as a student and as a son such as I need to take care of my homework and my sister also being prepared for school and making sure my sister is okey while I'm taking care of her. Some role I take on is being a Friend, Son, Brother, Role model and a wide receiver and a running back. I am Tyler I am the kid known for his athleticism and funny attributes and additude who will love, hate and make the world out to have no problems despite the problems he could have because he bite off more than he could chew. Those are only some of the thing that shape my identity and there are many more that haven't been uncovered and stones that haven't been over turned.

10 Years from now

In 10 years I hopefully see myself in Embry-Riddle Flight School, and with that I could be and UDT- Navy SEAL or the Airforce academy. Also in 10 year I see myself in my sophomore year of college living in Florida, instead of having a car I would want a Motorcycle. And in 10 year I'm hopeing to have a job in the Daytona Beach area with some money in my pocket before I try to make it into the Millitary and if it doesn't go as planed I could still become a Private Pilot.

One day in Chicago

I was Downtown the city was loud people walking by the sound or cars driving by, its great and all but the only thing that mattered was me and me grandma. Earlier that day me and her decided let's take a trip downtown because we had never done that ever. We walked to the train station to catch a metra and we are now heading to union station and on are way there we choose to go to the Art institute first. When we got there it's a quiet environment very peaceful, that was me very first time at the Art institute.

After the Institute we started heading to millennial park and we sat down enjoyed the view and talked, she asked "What I wanted to be when I grow up." I said "I would like to become a pilot and go to Embry Riddle aeronautic piloting school." She said "The same school you mom went to?" I said "Yes." So after talking and sitting at the park for a while we headed to the Bean and the big two face thing that shoots out water and after all that we went to get some Chicago style pizza. By this time is was 8 o'clock and we were both tired, we started walking back to union station and before we got on the train we got some coffee for the ride home. Before we know it we got to the Berwyn station and started walking to Stickney and that is the end to our day. This is probably one of the best days I've ever had with my Grandma.
